Dustin Li bridges two worlds: enterprise AI security at scale and technology deployment in humanitarian crises. As a founding security engineer at Anthropic, he plays a key role in securing Claude - one of the world's most widely adopted AI platforms - driving threat modeling, vulnerability management, and efforts to reduce security risk across complex AI infrastructure. He joined Anthropic because he believes getting AI safety right is one of the highest-impact problems of our time.
When he's not securing Anthropic’s code and infrastructure, Dustin is probably on a plane to somewhere most people are trying to leave. He serves as Special Programs Director for the IT Disaster Resource Center (ITDRC), and previously deployed to disaster zones with Cisco Tactical Operations and the United Nations Emergency Telecommunications Cluster. One deployment took him to Sierra Leone during the Ebola crisis, where his connectivity solutions enabled thousands of medical professionals to combat the outbreak - a fitting turn for someone who holds a patent for rapid biological sample preparation systems designed for first responders. He also deployed to Haiti following the devastating 2021 earthquake.
An "#OpsGeek" at heart, Dustin believes the most meaningful work happens at the intersection of technical excellence and human impact.
